If you would have told a teenage John Stamos, flipping burgers at his father's southern California restaurant, that one day he'd be a teen idol, star in one of the most beloved and enduring sitcoms of our time, and become a part-time member of The Beach Boys - among many other accomplishments - he wouldn't have believed a word. But, sometimes real life is even better than a Hollywood ending.
In If You Would Have Told Me, Stamos looks back on an extraordinary life lived with tremendous joy, and gratefulness - not to mention great hair - that is sure to delight his legion of fans, and make new converts of the rest of us. Taking us from the heyday of soap opera television with his breakout role on General Hospital, to the iconic living room of Full House where he made lifelong friendships with the cast and crew, especially his co-star Bob Saget, on to the drama of ER, and then to playing to sold out crowds with the Beach Boys, Stamos has indeed had a career that anyone wouldn't believe possible.
But that's only half the story. John introduces us to the man behind that winning smile, telling us hilarious, and poignant stories on his road to finding a family of his own in his midlife, and the deep well of gratefulness that comes with a life well-lived.
